My mother gave up on her Chambers 90C and gave it to me as my inhertiance (she converted to a GE). I couldn't be happier. This stove has history for me. It was part of our housedhold 4 years before I was born and permitted me the experience of frying my first egg at age of 3. But here is the problem, I moved it from N.J. to Indiana, where I currently live, to reconditon it. It will than move to our new place in Montana. Natural gas is not availble so I need to convert to propane. Anyone know what I need to do?

For starters, you need to get yourself a Model C service manual. It has directions for conversion in it. Todd White, our webmaster, sells them on ebay, as does Sammy "the Uncertain Stoveman." Todd's has some very helpful editor's notes in it, as well as an improved layout compared to the original version.
Congratulations on your early inheritance! Its wonderful that you will be able to preserve such an integral part of your family history.

The book is a must because it will show you what type of burners you have. If you have universal burners it is very easy to convert to propane by raising the burners. You will need to have shallow drip pans, because the deeper ones don't fit when the burner is raised to the higher position.

Welcome to the CHAMBERS family!
I have the C-series Service Manual, Revised Edition, along with the Cookbook, which is essentially an Operation Manual with recipe's. Both are essential to caring for and getting full use out of your CHAMBERS.
